Online Learning Path Application

Dear Transylvania County Schools Middle and High School Parents—

At their business meeting on October 5th, the Transylvania County Board of Education voted to return elementary schools to ‘Plan A’ with four days of face-to-face instruction available for students beginning on October 21, the start of the second nine weeks.

Under current state guidelines, our middle and high schools will continue to operate under ‘Plan B’ as they have been since August 17. Going forward, we want to remind everyone that Transylvania County Schools will continue to adhere to rules that require temperature checks upon entering our buildings and wearing a mask at all times.

For students in middle and high school, the application process for the Online Learning Path is now open from October 12th to October 23rd.

You can watch this video for more information. (currently only in English)

Who needs to complete this application? All students except those who are in face-to-face instruction now and who want to remain in face-to-face instruction next semester.

How does this work? If you are in the Online Learning Path now and want to stay in the Online Learning Path for the second semester, you will need to complete this new application by October 23rd. If you want to switch into the Online Learning Path, or leave the Online Learning Path in January and start face-to-face instruction, you will also need to complete the application by October 23rd.

For students who attend school in person now and want to continue face-to-face instruction in the spring, you will NOT need to complete this application.

Again, the Online Learning Path application for spring 2021 will be open for middle and high school students ONLY from today, October 12th, through October 23rd. Elementary families will begin their applications on October 26th, and we will send more news to our elementary families at that time.

Click the links above or visit for a link to apply, or email for detailed questions and more information.

Thank you for your support of Transylvania County Schools, and have a great day!

June 30, 2020

Our country has been through difficult times in the last few weeks.  The Transylvania County Board of Education and Transylvania County Schools believe that all North Carolina children shall have the opportunity to reach their full potential through equitable and meaningful public education.  Rosman High School affirms our belief in diversity, acceptance, and kindness, and further assert that racism is not tolerated in Rosman High School.  We will continue to work to ensure all students have access to a sound basic education—a constitutional right that has been guaranteed to each and every child in North Carolina.

We know that to make meaningful change, the dedication and commitment to change must last far beyond the current moment.  We urge all stakeholders to engage in collective efforts to build the moral and equitable world that our young people deserve.

Remember that your SCHOOL Google Drive and Gmail accounts will be deleted sometime in June. We do not have a specific date yet of when you will lose access to your school accounts and will share that info as we get it.

If you have anything in your Gmail or Google Drive that you want to keep or need, please download it into your PERSONAL account.
Please contact the school if you have any questions and please share this with any senior in TCS system! Thanks!

See the attached video on how to download items from your school account.

Transylvania County Schools welcomes you to the first choice for education in prekindergarten through twelfth grade—the innovative, traditional public schools of our community since 1861.

Our mission is to prepare students to become caring and productive citizens in an ever-changing society, through the shared responsibility of students, parents, educators, and the community.

Our motto is "Teaching everyone takes everyone." We ask you to join us in committing to our highest values—that all children can learn; however they learn differently, and we must value and understand those differences, and that minds and hearts are the focus of education.
