This spring we plan to offer our 11th grade student the opportunity to receive the required second Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) at school. I am including the direct link to the 11th Grade MCV Permission form as well as the link to the Transylvania Public Health which will five parents/guardians more information about the vaccine requirement. We have printed permission packets for our in-person students but wanted to extend the opportunity to be vaccinated at school to all our enrolled 11th grade students.

Reflections

Today, Friday, March 12, is nearly the one-year anniversary of when North Carolina Schools changed to at-home learning due to COVID-19. This year has not been easy, but there are lessons to be learned and things to be grateful for. On this anniversary, we ask students to take a moment and share with one of your teachers a message of hope and reflection that you have gained from the last year of this pandemic (email is the easiest way to do this). We all hope that in one year from now we will be past this virus and can celebrate this without masks and social distancing - this is to be determined, but let's celebrate the successes of the last year together.
We have created a video sharing some staff and students thoughts from the last year, please take a moment to view that today:

Thank you for being part of our school community.

The following is called "Letters of a Prisoner of War" that was created in honor of Veteran's Day by the Rosman Band.

June 30, 2020

Our country has been through difficult times in the last few weeks.  The Transylvania County Board of Education and Transylvania County Schools believe that all North Carolina children shall have the opportunity to reach their full potential through equitable and meaningful public education.  Rosman High School affirms our belief in diversity, acceptance, and kindness, and further assert that racism is not tolerated in Rosman High School.  We will continue to work to ensure all students have access to a sound basic education—a constitutional right that has been guaranteed to each and every child in North Carolina.

We know that to make meaningful change, the dedication and commitment to change must last far beyond the current moment.  We urge all stakeholders to engage in collective efforts to build the moral and equitable world that our young people deserve.

If you have anything in your Gmail or Google Drive that you want to keep or need, please download it into your PERSONAL account.
Please contact the school if you have any questions and please share this with any senior in TCS system! Thanks!

Peachjar RHS

Transylvania County Schools welcomes you to the first choice for education in prekindergarten through twelfth grade—the innovative, traditional public schools of our community since 1861.

Our mission is to prepare students to become caring and productive citizens in an ever-changing society, through the shared responsibility of students, parents, educators, and the community.

Our motto is "Teaching everyone takes everyone." We ask you to join us in committing to our highest values—that all children can learn; however they learn differently, and we must value and understand those differences, and that minds and hearts are the focus of education.
