Many North Carolina colleges and universities participate in C2C (countdown to college) by waiving application fees during College Application Week (CAW), which begins on October 21 at 7:30 a.m. and ends on October 27 at 11:59 p.m. Students, the hard part is behind you. Introducing #NCCollegeConnect. With North Carolina’s new simplified application program, public high school seniors with a weighted 2.8 GPA or above can easily apply to participating UNC System universities and their local North Carolina community college. All eligible students have to do is complete a simplified application, maintain their GPA, and meet graduation and UNC System requirements. That's right - no essays! Spotlight on Rosman High School: It may be Homecoming week, but these teachers and students are still getting business done! The homecoming court was presented to the student body and the Seniors carried on the tradition of signing "the Rock" on this beautiful fall day.

Rosman High School Highlight: These students give back on the annual Rosman High School Senior Service Day. They completed service projects at Rosman Community parks, the Family Place, Free Rein stables, Rosman Elementary, High and TC Henderson. TCS superintendent, Dr. Fletcher, also helped out alongside Principal Ormsby! #TCSTogether

Dear TCS Family, As you are aware, our community has been hit hard from Hurricane Helene. The majority of our county is without power and cell service is very limited. Transylvania County Schools will be CLOSED through Friday, October 4, 2024; with NO extra-curricular activities, including sports. We will reassess the situation as the week progresses and send out further information on Friday, Oct. 4 for the following week. For community feeding information, please look at Transylvania County Facebook or tune in to WGCR or WSQL. Let's continue to be better together and support one another. Brevard High School will host Driver Education classes after school, Monday through Friday, from October 7 through October 18 from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the school media center. Students' date of birth must be on or before 4/7/2010 to be eligible for the class. Registration is avaiable at https://www.mtnpro.com/bhsform

Homecoming Week is September 30th -October 4th.

Hello TCS Families, Transylvania County Schools will have Virtual Learning Days on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27, 2024 for all students. All school buildings will be Closed for students and students will learn from home. During Virtual Learning Days, K-12th grade teachers assign student work via Google Classroom. In addition, teachers are available by email from 8:00 AM to Noon. Students will have 5 days to complete work from the first day you return to school. If you have any questions or your student has trouble accessing their Google Classroom, please contact your child's teacher. Thank you for your understanding and please be safe.

Transylvania County is proud to have the Marine Corp JROTC program serving all three of its high schools. The cadets gathered on Wednesday for their promotion ceremony at Brevard High School. Parents and members from the community attended the event and were invited to do pushups with the cadets to begin the program. Then the cadets were given their promotional ranks and insignia pins. The MC JROTC program is focused on preparing students to become better citizens. #TCSTogether

Seniors! It's time to order your Graduation announcements, accessories, senior apparel and your cap and gown! Representatives of the Herff Jones Company will be here on Tuesday, October 1st from 1PM-2PM, to take orders for graduation announcements and caps and gowns for the senior class. A $80.00 down payment is required for all graduation announcement orders. You can also order online @ scherffjones.com. Graduation announcement down payments m ay be made by money order, cashier's check, cash, credit card, or check. Any junior or senior who has not ordered their class ring may do so at this time. Extra ring packets are available in the office.

On September 19th, students will receive a flu shot flyer that contains a Survey Monkey link. The link will allow parents to fill out the flu shot form electronically. There will be paper copies in both English and Spanish in the High School office if parents would like a hard copy.

Upcoming Event: PSAT offered for 10th & 11th Juniors who score high on the PSAT may earn honors to list on college/scholarship applications, including the National Merit Scholarship. (10th graders may take the test for practice.) Testing will be during the school day, tentatively the week of Oct. 21.
